Hardwood Flooring
- When selecting hardwood flooring, there are a lot of options and choices to be made. Hardwood Floors are either engineered or solid. In Florida, because of the high humidity, we recommend an engineered floor. All hardwood floors are made in a variety of widths and lengths. They come in either a micro-beveled edge or a straight edge profile. they can have a smooth finish or a hand-scraped finish, whichever look you prefer. Every species of wood has a different ranking in hardness which is measured by the Janka scale. Naturally the harder the species, the more durable that product would be. There's also a waterproof version of hardwood flooring which can be floated, glued or nailed down installation-wise. Depending on the condition of your slab, a moisture barrier or floor prep may be necessary to ensure the integrity of your installation and not void the manufacturer's warranty. This is determined on a job-by-job basis.
Porcelain Tile
- Porcelain flooring has gained popularity over ceramic tile flooring over the past ten years due to its superior durability. Ceramic tile has a PEI rating of 0-3 which is considered adequate for residential where porcelain tile has a PEI rating of 4-5 which is superior for residential and more than adequate for commercial applications. The PEI rating registers the amount of resistance the product has to abrasion. Naturally, the greater the resistance, the more durable the product and greater ease of maintenance. The majority of floor tiles today are offered in porcelain versus ceramic because of those reasons. Both products are offered in an array of tasteful styles, sizes and patterns to enhance any decor residentially or commercially. Larger format tiles are now becoming more popular since they afford less grout lines but do require a special upgraded adhesive to assure the proper bonding. When installing either product, it's advised to use a qualified experienced mechanic to make sure the installation is impeccable. That's what our craftsmen strive for.
Luxury Vinyl Tile
- Luxury vinyl tile (LVT) and luxury vinyl plank (LVP) is the newest and hottest product category in the flooring industry today. It's very popular because of its outstanding style, quality and value. The specialized 3D imaging that is now a part of the manufacturing process is built right in. By being built in, it's hard to tell that the planks are not real wood or porcelain depending on which product you select. It's available in both a floating installation or direct glue-down. We recommend the floating system for residential because it actually affords a soft cushion feel underfoot where hardware and tile floors do not. We recommend direct glue-down method of this product for commercial applications. Some of the products are 100% waterproof which is definitely not available when using a wood floor. It's available in a multitude of plank sizes and designs that will enhance any decor and will afford years of ease of maintenance. It's made in anywhere from a 12 mil to a 22 mil wear layer. The 12 mil is fine for residential, but we recommend the 22 mil for heavy traffic areas or commercial applications.
